Biography
Jonathan Podwil is an artist and visual effects artist living and working in Brooklyn NY.
He has exhibited his painting and time based works at galleries and non profit spaces in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, Vienna, Bologna, Berlin, Toronto and others. His work has been reviewed in ARTFORUM, WhiteHot Magazine, The New Yorker, Saatchi online, Gothamist, and others. His film based work is in the collection of the Austrian National Film Archive and the Belvedere Museum, Vienna. He is a recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Fellowship for painting (2012)
He has also worked as a digital matte painter, compositor, and visual effects supervisor on films and episodic shows since 2008. IMDb credits include Russian Doll (Season 2), The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (Joel and Ethan Coen) and Tesla, Experimenter, and Marjorie Prime (Michael Almereyda).
Jonathan studied at the University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and Konstskola Forum (Malmö, Sweden). He speaks English, Swedish, German and French.
