Joseph Pavelka

Joe Pavelka is a visiting instructor at Pratt Institute.  His multidisciplinary practice and professions include: sculptor, animator, motion graphics artist, writer, story editor, musician, and illustrator.  His two decades of experience in the fine art, corporate media, and indie publishing worlds inform him of the the breadth and depth of the spectrum of ideas and modes of expression.  His focus as an educator is to build a strong conceptual foundation for his students to build visceral and sensory expression onto; he strongly believes that ideas are primary to everything else, and that expression is most effective when they serve a solid idea.  He is also passionate about mentoring, believing that educating and guidance should extend beyond the classroom.
