Kathleen Dunne
Professor
Biography
Kathleen Dunne, Professor, is both a Professional Engineer and a Registered Architect. She has been teaching in the technology sequence at Pratt for over 30 years in the Materials and Structures sequences. She has contributed Structures lectures in several other classes. She has taught a specialized Studio in High Rise Tower design along with Prof. Michael Trencher for several years, now as a Fifth year Degree Project. She has taught in both the Undergraduate Architecture and Construction Management programs.
In addition, Prof. Dunne has retired as a partner in Dunne & Markis Consulting Structural Engineers and worked with many architectural firms for over 40 years. Within the firm, she has designed and directed projects of many types and materials. Her graduate work at Yale University was research based and focused on bridging the traditional gap between engineering and architecture. Her teaching and practice since has been an effort to continue this dialogue between disciplines.
