Laurel Voss
Associate Provost for Integrated Planning & Faculty Affairs; Visiting Assistant Professor
Biography
Laurel Voss has been working in non-profit and academic arts administration for over 20 years, spanning a myriad of concentrations in art & design higher education. For two years she worked at Independent Curators International as the Associate Director of Communications & Finance before returning to Pratt in 2014 in her current role. As the Associate Provost for Integrated Planning & Faculty Affairs she works to allocate resources to the academic areas and ensure compliance, ethical spending, and match resources to the strategic mission and goals of the Institute. She is part of the core team in Academic Affairs, leading operations and faculty affairs issues, supporting the Chief Academic Officer (Provost) and in working closely with Chairs and Deans. Visiting Assistant Professor Voss has taught courses at Pratt Institute in subjects including the Pratt Integrative Courses, Qualitative Research & Observation, Color Theory, and Yoga. She remains an active artist and yoga practitioner. Her research and areas of exploration include mindfulness practices for creative growth, using art making as a restorative practice, and spending time outside in nature and in play.
