Biography
Neil Benezra is a sound designer, re-recording mixer, and composer for film, theater, and museum and gallery installations. He has collaborated with such internationally acclaimed directors and artists as Dara Birnbaum, Louise Bourgeois, Abel Ferrara, Richard Foreman, Nan Goldin, Joan Jonas, and Laurie Simmons. Benezra’s sound design for Abel Ferrara’s Siberia was nominated for The Indiewire Critics Survey Best Sound Design of 2021. His personal sound installation work has been shown in solo and group shows in Austria. The award-winning film work of Benezra’s studio, Brooklyn Sound & Image, has been internationally released in theaters and all major film festivals worldwide, as well as on streaming services.
