Biography
Peter Minsoub Sim is a designer with a diverse background in design, design engineering, and design education. His portfolio features a wide range of projects, from consumer products to intricately crafted hardwood furniture and sculptures.
Before joining Pratt Institute, Peter taught various courses at Parsons School of Design, spanning from pre-college foundations to capstone studio classes in the product design program. He also played a key role in managing and training students, faculty, and staff in digital fabrication techniques at the Making Center.
One of Peter’s recent projects, the Cosmos chair, was showcased at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) and exhibited at Room 47 Gallery. This piece has garnered attention from several prominent online platforms, including Design Boom, Core77, Yanko Design, and D5. Inspired by this recognition, Peter continues to explore his passion for blending digital fabrication, traditional techniques, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) research through his unique furniture collections.
