Rose Rowson
Visiting Assistant Professor
Biography
Rose Rowson is a Visiting Assistant Professor in Social Science and Cultural Studies. Her research and teaching is located between media studies, feminist theory, continental philosophy, and science and technology studies. Rowson completed her doctoral studies in Modern Culture and Media at Brown University in May 2024. In her dissertation, titled My Baby is a Computer: Personal Devices, Reproductive Technologies, Historical Critique, she argues for the integration of obstetric technologies and techniques into media studies as a disciplinary formation. Excerpts from this project are published and forthcoming in Journal of Medical Humanities and Feminist Media Histories.
