Samuel Evensen (b. 1981) works in drawing, painting, and installation. He received an MFA from the New York Academy of Art in 2008. His work has been exhibited in group and solo exhibitions throughout the U.S. and in China, including at the Edward Hopper Museum and the Fort Wayne Museum of Art. He is a three-time recipient of the Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance Grant, JP Morgan Chase Foundation and has participated in residencies that include the Prince of Wales Fellowship Residency, Balleroy, France and the Central Academy of Fine Arts Residency, Beijing, China. He is a Visiting Associate Professor at Pratt Institute, having taught drawing and painting there since 2008. He lives and works in New York, NY.
