Shanieka Brooks

With over a decade of experience in academic advising and counseling, Shanieka offers students holistic support with a focus on inclusion, diversity, and creating a student-centered environment. She places a particular emphasis on mental health and wellness, cultural competency, and support for neurodiverse learners.  Prior to joining Pratt, she served as Assistant Director of Advising and Student Services at NYU Steinhardt’s Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions.

Before working in higher education, Shanieka worked in the music industry, creating and executing marketing plans and coordinating production of various projects. She holds a post master’s certificate in Advanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from the NYU Silver School of Social Work, an MSEd in Counseling from Hunter College, an MA in Arts, Entertainment & Media Management from Columbia College, and a BBA in Marketing & Management from Loyola University in New Orleans.
