Biography
For over two decades, Shireen has distinguished herself as both a Design Professional in the Fashion Industry and a Community Educator and Advocate. Her work centers on the intersections of Fashion, Narrative, Identity, Culture, and Representation, drawing from her professional expertise and personal experiences.
As a multidisciplinary artist and educator, Shireen bridges digital, research, and design domains, guiding students to make meaningful connections across design processes. Her approach is deeply reflective, supporting students in developing their unique narratives and aesthetic voices while helping them communicate ideas effectively across various platforms.
Shireen’s own professional design background is diverse, spanning apparel, beading, embroidery, surface design, menswear, and accessories. She has worked as a digital artist and consultant for prestigious brands including Nautica, Victoria’s Secret, Liz Claiborne, and Coach.
She holds a B.F.A. in Fashion Design from Moore College of Art and Design and an M.S. Ed. from Bank Street College of Education.
