My role as a designer, educator, and administrator has always been to leverage my talents, perspective, and position to bring value to the communities I’m a part of, and people I serve. My aim as Chair of Undergraduate Architecture at Pratt is to continue this work for the benefit of the discipline, advancement of the school, and the amelioration of the built environment, both in Brooklyn and beyond.  This work began for me in earnest as an extension of my practice in Southern California and sincere desire to challenge the conventions of architectural orthodoxy.  To that end I co-founded a four-person, multi-disciplinary design collaborative that pursued work for exhibition, and has shown in venues throughout the world including, the Studio Museum in Harlem, the Architecture Center in New York, and the Fonds Régional d’Art Contemporain’s Young Architects Exhibition in Orléans, among others.

Throughout my career, both in practice and academia, I’ve worked to bridge the chasm between historically disadvantaged communities and advanced design.  Working with and for not-for-profits, community development corporations, and minority business incubators, my focus has been to advance strategies that champions the disenfranchised and strives to engage the built environment through sustainable and conscientious design practices.
