Teague O’Malley (he/him/tig) is an instructor at Pratt Institute, teaching contemplative art courses within the Integrative Mind & Body Program. A meditation teacher and contemplative artist, he integrates modern science, ancient wisdom, and creative process to support students cultivate steadiness, presence, and well-being. He specializes in teaching in healthcare, research, and higher education.

Teague earned a BA in Art & Design from the College of Design at NC State University, where the influence of Bauhaus principles shaped the college’s dedication to design thinking and societal impact. This foundation led to a twenty-year career leading creative teams and processes, as Director of International Creative Services & Store Experience at Banana Republic, and later as Global Creative Director on the marketing team. In 2016, Teague followed a deeper calling to be of greater service, stepping away from this career to focus full-time on teaching meditation, creating art, and supporting systems of constructive change and healing.

Teague trained to teach mindfulness-based interventions at The Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Healthcare, and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, completed his teaching practicum at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center and teaching certifications at Brown University. He is qualified to teach Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and is a certified instructor of Cultivating Emotional Balance (CEB) and The Breathing Class programs. With over 25 years of personal contemplative practice, Teague draws on these trainings and his deep immersion in the wisdom traditions they stem from to guide personal transformation and stress resilience.

Teague’s work in healthcare spans nine years, including teaching meditation-based stress management programs for providers, patients, and families in hospital environments. At Mayo Clinic’s Program for Mindfulness, he developed and teaches ‘The Meditation Incubator,’ a program currently under study for its impact on provider burnout.

In addition to his roles at Mayo Clinic and Pratt, Teague collaborates with Brown University’s School of Public Health as a Teaching Research Interventionist in the Mindfulness for Health Equity Laboratory. There, he contributes to the development and teaching of the Mindfulness-Based Queer Resilience (MBQR) program, a clinical research study focused on supporting young queer adults in navigating the effects of bias and discrimination through mindfulness, community, and mentorship to mitigate the impact of minority stress.

Teague’s creative practice revolves around ‘Illustrated Intentions,’ an artistic system he developed to transform intention into experiential art. This work includes creating large-scale earth art installations that blend mandalas and labyrinths, offering contemplative experiences in real time. His art is showcased in galleries and public spaces, inviting viewers to engage with its meditative and transformative qualities. IG @illustrated_intentions

Born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Teague has lived in NYC, London, and San Francisco. Since 2016, he has embraced a nomadic lifestyle, living without a home or material belongings while exploring conscious capitalism, resource-sharing, and gifting economies that reduce harm, oppression, environmental impact, and foster interconnection. On warm days, you can find him crafting intricate earth art on the beach, embodying his commitment to creativity, mindfulness, and a light touch on the planet.
