An Adjunct Associate Professor – CCE, Valerie has been a faculty member in Pratt’s Creative Arts Therapy department since 2008.

In addition to serving as Dance/Movement Therapy Internship Coordinator, Valerie has taught: Thesis in Progress, Professional Practice & Clinical Supervision, Professional Ethics & Clinical Supervision, and Clinical Assessment & Treatment Planning.

Valerie is also an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Dance & Theatre at Manhattanville College.

As the founding Director of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Therapy at the former North General Hospital, Valerie has a diverse clinical background, extensive supervisory experience, and an established administrative skill set.

With thoughtful consideration and noteworthy adaptability, Valerie fully invests in collaborative work and looks to stay at the forefront of her discipline. Balancing experiential learning and didactic instruction, Valerie seeks to provide the highest level of clinical training to best prepare Creative Arts Therapy graduates to work effectively with people from diverse communities.

Valerie Hubbs is a Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist, National Certified Counselor, Certified Group Psychotherapist, Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, and Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
