Policy
Pratt uses and supports a highly functional, industry-standard content management system called Expression Engine. It is the CMS we use institute wide to update content on http://www.pratt.edu.
On a case-by-case basis, Pratt does offer hosting and subdomains (such as example.pratt.edu) for WordPress and other third-party CMS supported websites. We will implement the initial database setup and configuration, but cannot provide day-to-day support regarding site maintenance and use. For third-party sites that are not hosted by Pratt, we can not offer support or pratt.edu subdomains. Pratt academic departments cannot replicate official department information on a website outside of http://www.pratt.edu.
Requests for hosting and subdomains need to be academically sanctioned. Simply have the head of your department or office grant approval by submitting a service request to services@pratt.edu and the request will be routed accordingly. Please include the subdomain you would like associated with your site.
There are many resources available online for working with WordPress, such as:

Pratt reserves the right to take down any associated website for violations of academic policy or other issues that arise.
