When Is The Pantry Open And Where Is It?

Brooklyn Campus

The Pratt Pantry is located in East Hall, room 010 on the Brooklyn campus and is open Mondays and Fridays 10am-1pm and Wednesdays 10am-4pm during the Fall 2024 semester. The Grab & Go bookshelf outside of the Pantry will be stocked for students to obtain items at their convenience. Please complete this form before your first visit.

Manhattan Campus

We have created a pop-up Pantry for students on the Pratt Manhattan campus. To access, complete this form and present to the Student Affairs desk Mondays-Fridays 10am-5pm on the 7th floor to use the Pantry. Student workers will sign students in and let them know what’s available.

What Do I Have To Do To Access The Pantry?

All visitors must complete an intake form before their first visit. These forms must only be completed once per year. Returning visitors will be asked to complete a shorter form. All answers will be kept confidential and will only be used to improve operations.

The Pantry has extra bags for visitors but to help limit waste, please bring your own reusable bag.

Who Staffs The Pratt Pantry?

The Pantry is staffed by administrators and student staff members.

How Often Can I Visit The Pantry?

As often as you need. Visits are not capped and students do not have to demonstrate need in order to visit the Pantry. We ask that all visitors only take what they need and to donate in the future if they find themselves able to do so.

What Kind Of Food Is Available?

We have non-perishable food like canned goods, pasta, cereal, spreads and sauces, and snack foods. We also have produce in our fridge that differs week to week.

The Pantry also offers personal hygiene products like menstrual pads and tampons, toothbrushes, and paper goods.

Does The Pratt Pantry Provide Any Other Services?

We have staff available to help students apply for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, and to explore other ways to purchase food on a budget. Email thepantry@pratt.edu to learn more.

The Brooklyn Pantry has also started a Grab and Go system for those unable to visit during open hours. The bookshelf outside of the Pantry will be stocked with canned goods, quick meals, snack foods, and personal hygiene items and we ask students to please be considerate of others and only take what they need.
