A 2022 NYSCA film/video production grant recipient, Amy Guggenheim began research for Blindsight as a Fulbright Fellow to Mexico. Studying writing at NYU and The New School, she teaches in the Pratt Institute graduate cinema studies program. Her award-winning short film Blindsight screened at international festivals and her work received recognition from the Asian Cultural Council, the Mellon Foundation, the U.S. Embassy, and others.
