Jazmin Loranne is a Jamaican-Nevisian photographer whose artistic pursuits are deeply rooted in New York City. Her work primarily delves into the Caribbean Diaspora and fashion, exploring how these elements can shape and reflect personal identity throughout a coming-of-age journey. Jazmin’s latest project, Cuba Through the Lens, employs a photo-documentary style enriched with audio elements. This project reflects her commitment to capturing the intricate interplay between race and religion in Cuba. “I seek to create a project that encapsulates the representation of Afro-Cuban contribution to culture in Cuba and also focus on Orisha’s societal importance and influence in Cuba.”
